The best way to introduce this next recipe is by saying the hot chocolate you have been drinking all your life is wrong and this recipe is so right! This creamy, thick and rich chocolate drink is once of the best ways to embrace your holidays this year.

Buying a nice brand of dark chocolate is my recommendation for this recipe, I used 70% dark chocolate by Lindt. This recipe is very quick and easy and cooked in a pot on your stove. All you need is; dark chocolate, whole milk, cocoa powder, sugar and corn starch.
You can also use milk chocolate but will need to increase the amount of cocoa powder you use so it is not too sweet. This hot chocolate is a little thicker than normal so you will find you don't need to drink as much of it as you would the store bought mixes.

Italian Hot Chocolate
makes 4-5 servings
Ingredients:
- 8 ounces dark chocolate, chopped
- 3 1/4 cups whole milk + 6 tablespoons used separately
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 3 tablespoons white sugar
- 3 teaspoons corn starch
- marshmallow, whipped cream and grated chocolate for topping
Instructions:
In a medium sauce pan on medium heat, combine and melt chocolate and 4 tablespoons of whole milk.
Slowly whisk in 3 1/4 cups of whole milk, whisking until well combined.
Whisk in cocoa powder and sugar, until fully incorporated
In a separate bowl combine cornstarch and remaining 2 tablespoons of milk, once mixed together pour into saucepan and mix using a wooden spoon.
Mixture will start to thicken, remove from heat and serve with marshmallows, a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of chocolate shavings.

This is one decadent treat and should be repeatedly made every holiday season!
Enjoy!
