It wouldn’t be Cinco De Mayo without a little tequila! This cocktail combines sweet mangoes, spicy jalapeños and smooth tequila.

When I went to Maui in 2018 I discovered how delicious a margarita was with a bit of heat! Since coming back it’s become a favourite drink of mine and thankfully The Cactus Club makes an amazing one!
I find the most important ingredient in a margarita really is the tequila and I’m a firm believer that not all tequila is created equal. It’s never a good idea to buy the cheapest of any type of alcohol. But with tequila I really notice how smooth a moderate priced tequila can taste compared to a cheaper brand. One of my favourite bottles I have found so far is Casa Amigos.

Spicy Mango Margarita
Ingredients:
- 1/2 ripe mango, diced
- 1 lime, juiced
- 2 fresh jalapeño slices
- 1.5 oz. Tequila
- 3 oz. mango juice, fresh or store bought
- 1/2 tablespoon sea salt
- pinch of celery salt
- 1/2 teaspoon seasoning salt
Instructions:
1. Combine sea salt, celery salt and seasoning salt on a small plate. Rub a lime wedge along the rim of your glass and then dip into spice mix. Set aside.
2. In a mason jar or cocktail shaker muddle together mango, jalapeño slices and lime juice. Add a couple ice cubes, tequila and mango juice. 3. Cover with lid and shake. Add fresh ice to your serving glass, strain cocktail over the fresh ice. Top with jalapeño and lime slices.

I love a new cocktail. They can sometimes be time consuming but man are they worth it!
Cheers on this beautiful Cinco de Mayo!
